I think it’s fine and dandy that so many people claim to be able to distinguish the most minute Details found in raw recorded audio. I still can’t help but want to know the truth. Ive done my fair share of arguing on this topic in my day and now coding horror has decided to put our ears to the test. Please go to the site and provide your input by listening to the audio samples compressed At different bit rates. Are you bad enough, dude, to rescue audio compression rates? Feel free to tell me your thoughts on the matter. Let the games begin. http://www.codinghorror.com/blog/2012/06/the-great-mp3-bitrate-experiment.html
I love this concept and had a lot of fun working through the exercises. I’m hoping to see more in the future.
…simply because they didn’t exist yet.
About 6 years ago, I decided I was going to go back to school to learn how to code. I had very casually dabbled with some simple stuff ranging from HTML to C++, but decided I needed a more formal…
This game is currently available for play and allows you to shoot javascript code in order to save the World. I really hope they develop this game with additional language selections. What a fun way to learn/study.
From remote controlled (UAV) spy planes to open source game boys this little bad boy is responsible for some of the coolest technological DIY projects around. I have been dying to mess with one of these boards for awhile and now my interest is further peaked. This arduino comic book makes learning how to properly handle the single-board mircocontroller all the more tempting. If you are interested in finding out about specific open source projects check out Arduino Playground.
My favorite projects:
Laser Harp (need I say more)
Mouse Glove (heck yeah)
Urban Carpet (interactive carpet)
Drawbot (its adorable)
It is the 256th day of the year, the moment we’ve all been waiting for….Programmer’s Day. Apparently the holiday is only officially recognized in Russia but many technology oriented companies do recognize their programmers on this special day. To celebrate this monumental occasion programmers from around the world are wearing white today, I know I have my white on.
Why the 256th day?
“A byte can have 256 possible values, bytes are very important to programmers. Not because they are required for programs to work, but because the payroll system and Krispy Kreme doughnut cash registers require them.”

I don’t usually aim my rants into the great abyss of the internet but Aghhhhhh :shakesfist: . Due to this years extremely intensive scheduling I have become a coding machine and a number crunching maniac. I dream in code. It’s pretty damn scary…. Add to that the fact that my job has been really serious this past week due to that lovely three day weekend and now we’ve got the equation for mental chaos.
e.g. Today I rewrote a program I coded over the weekend 3 damn times because I thought it was sending back erroneous results. Do you know what I finally realized after rewriting it the third time? My brain was giving out erroneous results. AHHHH!!! It was the way I was adding things up in my mind that was failing not the program. So that means it worked all three times!!! and that my brain is no longer trustworthy. Fair warning. I know I should always check with a calculator but I like to keep my mind flexible…. :deep breath: This too shall pass…. and hopefully so will I (my test…not on..)^_^
Thanks for listening to my hot air and I hope everyone’s have a great week! I promise I’ll start posting interesting factoids again eventually.
